Next Thursday is Halloween. Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school. We ask that costumes follow the district dress code, include school appropriate footwear (i.e.noslippers), and do not include weapons or masks. Students are welcome to bring a change of clothes so they have the option to change if they do not want to stay in their costumes all day.

Site Council Update
Site Council has an equal teacher to parent ratio. At present, we are down one parent, due to a scheduling conflict. Site Council is in need of one parent to step into the role.
Meetings are held once per month, on Thursdays at 4:00. They tend to run for about an hour, though they can go longer. (There is no meeting in December). Parent commitments are for two years. Parents take minutes, so having a laptop and a willingness to take turns with this duty is a plus--but not mandatory.
Parents who are interested in participating in Site Council should send a short letter of introduction/bio, and a statement about why they are interested in sitting on Site Council to our facilitator, Mr. Rodarte at:Christopher.email@example.com by Friday, November 1.
Meeting dates are posted in the front lobby and all members of the Sam Hughes Community are welcome to join us at any time.

Please be aware of the parking restrictions on the streets surrounding our school. There are areas where permits are required. Also, we have heard from our neighbors that driveways and garages are being blocked during morning drop off and afternoon pick up.
Please be sure to follow all parking restrictions and keep driveways, allies, and garages clear.
Thank you for being CREW!
