A Message from the Principal: 2/16

CREW Families,

Science Fair

Sam Hughes' 2019 Science Fair, on Tuesday (Feb 12th), was a great success, with 71 projects in total. The students worked hard, and teachers and parents did a great job supporting them. Fifteen projects were selected as the Sam Hughes entrants in the Southern Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair, which is coming up in just two weeks (March 6-8) at the Tucson Convention Center.

Our thanks go to the team of eight judges who volunteered their time: Heather Alcala, Rhonda Fleming, Robyn Fleming, Amanda Hixson, Iqbal Hossain, Antonio Meira, Monique Miscusi, and Mike Weingarten. We're already starting to think about next year's science fair, so please get in touch with Margaret Evans ( if you'd like to offer your time to support the kids!

Rodeo Break

There is No School on Thursday, February 21st and Friday, February 22nd, for Rodeo Break. Enjoy your long weekend and hope you have the chance to enjoy the festivities of Fiesta de Los Vaqueros!

Our Chuckwagon Carnival is only a few weeks away. Please mark your calendar for a day of family fun! Chuckwagon will be from 2-6 pm on March 2. See you there!

Tax Credit Walk

The Sam Hughes Tax Credit committee is planning two dates to walk the neighborhood around the school and distribute information about how to claim the Arizona Public School Tax Credit.

Can you join us?

We'll be gathering Saturday, Feb. 23rd and Saturday March 9th to share materials and create a coordinated effort.

Thanks for helping Sam Hughes be the very best school it can be! And thanks for sharing this with your friends and parent connections to help ensure a good turnout.
