Campus has been busy! Such an exciting time of year!
Students in 2nd through 5th grades have been working hard to demonstrate all the standards that they have mastered in the third quarter on their School City Benchmark assessments. Students complete both a Math and an English Language Arts assessment online and we are so proud of their hard work, concentration, and determination to do their best! Way to go CREW!
Are you curious about what an online assessment looks like for your child?
Come to the testing Open House on March 12, from 5-6pm in the library!
Students will have the opportunity to display their computer skills by navigating their parents through School City and the AzMERIT Portal. Come experience logging on, reading a passage and answering comprehension questions, responding to a writing prompt, and solving math problems!
We are incredibly proud of the achievement scores of our students, but once you have had the opportunity to experience the online testing environment, the appreciation of our students’ skills and knowledge, as well as our teachers’ instructional effectiveness, truly deepens!
Please look for the flyer in your students red folder.
On Wednesday, February 27, Mr. Fox Santos, was Principal of the Day! Mr. Santos had an action packed day that started with emailing the staff and then working with 1st grade in the Library. Next, he assisted me in hosting Lunch with the Principal for our Kinder and 1st graders that won Lunch and a School Tour with the Principal. We had a great time eating our Eegee’s lunch on the stage and then walking the secret areas of the school! After lunch, we spent some time with 2nd grade, and Principal Santos allowed his fellow classmates to have extra recess—the kids loved it! Mr. Santos ended his day by making an announcement on the intercom.
On Friday, our CREW had an outstanding time at our Track and Field day! We are anxiously awaiting the results of the 3rd through 5th grades in order to see who has qualified for the Regional Track meet on March 12th, at Rincon High school.
I would like to thank Coach Melanie Lapierre for organizing such an action packed day! I would also like to thank all the parent volunteers for their time! We could not have done it with out you. We had some very special guests from the U of A Track and Field Team. Ms. Kirsten, Mrs. Grogan’s Student Teacher, was able to invite David Egbo, Daniel Egbo, Hannah Whetzel, Tiffany Riley, Jordan Spradlin, and Kaelyn Shipley, to help assist with events for third through fifth grades!
Yee haw!!! We had some fun at Chuckwagon! I cannot believe the wonderful turn out we had on Saturday at Chuckwagon. Thank you Heather Alcala, the Chuckwagon Committee, and PTA for planning and hosting such a fabulous event for our community! The performances, games, attractions, and food were amazing!
Thank you to all of you that volunteered your time running booths and/or baking goods for the bake sale and cakewalk. The Chuckwagon legacy continued this year! Thank you CREW!!!
